Microturbo, a member of the Safran group and a subsidiary of Turbomeca, designs, develops and manufactures low-power gas turbines.

With 50 years of passion and innovation behind it, Microturbo has become a global reference in small robust, reliable turbines and turbojets.

Timeline

1961: Microturbo is founded by James Gaston Bayard, with Noëlle starters for the Snecma Atar® turbojets powering the Dassault Aviation Mirage
1981: the Labinal Group buys Microturbo
2000: Snecma buys Labinal and Microturbo becomes a subsidiary of Turbomeca
2005: The Safran Group is formed when Snecma and Sagem merge

Microturbo benefits from synergies within the Safran Group, an international high-tech equipment manufacturer and an aviation, defense and safety leader. The Group employs 55,000 people, has locations on every continent and turned over more than €10 billion in 2010.
