Microturbo has bases at four Microturbo and Turbomeca sites on four continents: Toulouse, France; Grand Prairie, Texas, USA; Fareham, England and Sydney, Australia. They are home bases for sales representatives, design and engineering offices, production, repair and support departments, everything we need to provide our customers with close, responsive service.
Microturbo was founded in November 1961 in Toulouse, France, by James Gaston Bayard. The Microturbo SAS plant in Toulouse is home to the corporate design, research, development, sales, production and repair departments and has twenty test benches.

Microturbo Inc was founded in November 1973 in Bohemia, New York. It was already a subsidiary of Microturbo SAS, operating under the name of Ames Industrial Corporation. In 1989, it moved to Grand Prairie, Texas, and changed its name to Microturbo Inc. Microturbo Inc services and repairs the Microturbo auxiliary power units on business aircraft and the starting systems in the US Navy’s Hawk T45 and the Canadian Army’s Hawk 100 NATO trainers. Alongside this, it also produces and maintains the TR60-5 turbojets of the US Army’s and US Navy’s BQM167 targets.
The Microturbo Inc plant has two test benches and is proud to have delivered more than 1,000 turbojets to the US Army’s and Air Force’s aerial target programs.

Microturbo Ltd was founded in 1973 when international markets were expanding to meet the needs of UK customers, in particular for the manufacture and maintenance of 007 starting systems on Jaguar aircraft. In 2008, Microturbo Ltd and Turbomeca Ltd merged to become Turbomeca UK, specialized in the maintenance of small and medium-power gas turbines and the manufacture of complex mechanical assemblies. The Turbomeca UK plant has five test benches and services the Auxiliary Power Units and starting systems of the Hawk aircraft.

Turbomeca Australasia was founded in 1994 in Sydney, Australia. Originally a repair center for BAE Systems Hawks with Saphir 10 APUs and Microturbo 047 starting systems, this site now assembles engines too. It has one test bench.
